A biker’s paradise

Come and put your wheels down on the magnificent open-air scenery of the Pyrenees, discover or rediscover the famous Tourmalet and Aubisque passes, spend a day at the Pic du Midi, take a short trip to Spain or admire the magnificent Gavarnie cirque, visit the sanctuary or go and refresh yourself at the Lourdes lake, book a track day at the Pau racetrack: whether your aim is to ride all day or simply to visit, you will not be lacking in possibilities, and the hardest thing to do will be to choose!

    Winter sports in the Pyrenees

    The ski areas

    Come and enjoy skiing in the resorts close to the gîte: Le Hautacam is a natural and preserved resort, offering an alpine and a Nordic domain. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the resort will seduce you with its many facets: dynamism, change of scenery, easy access and authenticity.

    The ski resort of Cauterets also offers downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing in its two areas, Cirque du Lys and Pont d’Espagne, as well as thermal baths in the village.

    A little further afield you can also take advantage of the Tourmalet or Gavarnie ski areas and many more, there is no shortage of choice!

      Cyclists’ happiness

      If you are looking for a place to stay where you can cycle over the most famous passes of the Tour de France, you have come to the right place! In addition to the famous Aubisque and Tourmalet passes, you can discover the Spandelles pass near the gîte and many others.

      Many cycling activities are also possible in the Argelès-Gazost and Cauterets areas such as FFC courses, greenways, road cycling etc.
      The fabulous Pic du Jer site in Lourdes will also delight mountain bikers. This site hosts the annual World Cup in March.

        Summer sports in the Pyrenees

        Hiking for all

        There is no lack of hiking activities in the Pyrenees. In the village you will find :

        • a hiking trail to the Andorra pass which crosses the Pibeste-Aouhet nature reserve (Piste de la vallée du Bergons),
        • a path passing behind the gîte and leading to the village of Ouzous (departure rue de l’église) which will take you to the Pibeste massif with a magnificent view of the Pyrenees and the Pic du Midi.

        Many beautiful walks are also accessible from Argelès-Gazost, Lourdes, Cauterets etc.
